After growing up in Kingwood WV, Julie Whetsell stayed in her home state and attended West Virginia University. Julie received her BSN Summa Cum Laude from WVU in 2005 and started her career as a Medical/Surgical ICU nurse at MGH. She then returned to WVU and completed her MSN in 2007. Julie was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and the recipient of the Judith Kanzari Nursing Scholarship awarded yearly to one nursing student.
Nationally certified through the ANCC as a family nurse practitioner, Julie has practiced in Morgantown for 17 years with experience in the specialty fields of urogynecology, reconstructive surgery, neuroimmunology, and preoperative evaluation. Julie joins the Regional Eye Associates team to complete preoperative patient evaluations.
Julie and her husband Brandon, both Preston County natives, reside in Bruceton, WV. They enjoy traveling, kayaking, spending time with family and friends, trying their hand at home renovations, gardening, and spoiling their dogs Boomer and Beanie.
