Dr. Erick Henderson is originally from Illinois and attended Illinois Wesleyan University. He then attended Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, TN, graduating with multiple recognitions for leadership and academic success. He completed externships at Lovell Federal Healthcare Center in North Chicago, IL, The Eye Center in Memphis, TN, and The Eyecare Specialists in Virginia Beach, VA.
In 2021 Dr. Henderson was selected as the Young Optometrist of the Year by the American Optometric Association, and in 2022 was recognized as the Young Alumnus of the Year by Southern College of Optometry. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Society.
Previously Dr. Henderson practiced in Pittsburgh, PA and was a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He provides comprehensive eye care and is excited to begin practicing in West Virginia and serving the people in our community.
Outside of the office he enjoys spending quality time with his family, travelling, and learning about US History. Dr. Henderson is a frequent volunteer and supporter of many non-profit organizations including serving as a board member for the Lamu Center of Preventative Health in Lamu, Kenya. He and his wife, Dr. Erin Keim have 2 children.
